One change of mind which will be welcomed by Fife residents is the one by Forth Ports.
"CONTROVERSIAL PROPOSALS to transfer million of tonnes of Russian crude oil between ships off the Fife coast have been rejected. In a surprise announcement yesterday, Forth Ports plc said it was not proceeding with an application to carry out ship-to-ship (STS) oil transfers in the estuary."
Carnegis suspects that it was the realisation by the company that if they pushed the oil transfer plans they risked doing themselves more damage on other projects that would make them more cash by upsetting the Scottish Government and its agency Scottish Enterprise, but nonetheless at least they did the right thing eventually.
