Visitors up.

Carnegie reads that the numbers of visitors to his Museum (the Andrew Carnegie Birthplace Museum in Dumfermline) has doubled "this season" to 7,000.

Carnegie hates to blow his own trumpet but he feels he must, given his international reputation and the number of Carnegie bequests that have been created around the world he would have expected a few more punters to make the pilgrimage to Dunfermline to to see where the great man himself was born and lived.

Carnegie also notes that the Carnegie Trust has allocated £250,000 to further develop the Museum. Mr Carnegie says about time too. He is no spring chicken but some aspects of the Museum are definitely showing their age, which probably explains why so few people are visiting it.

Tiff-any window.

Carnegie reads that there seems to be a dispute between the Carnegie Trust and Fife Council about the ownership of a Tiffany designed window which Carnegie intended to have placed in Dunfermline Abbey in the early 1900s, only to end up in the Tiffany Lounge at Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline. The Carnegie Trust want to have the window feature in its new Pittencrief Park headquarters but there seems to be some doubt about the window's ownership.

Carnegie thinks the window should go back to the Trust to feature in its new building. Fife Council don't seem to have taken very good care of the window since they assumed responsibility for it. It would be better for the window to be a talking point rather than just something to be passed from pillar to post by the Council.
