And the big cheeses at the Forth Estuary Transport Authority (FETA) have done it again.
"THE cost of vital repair work on the Forth Road Bridge has risen by £5 million but there are signs that further corrosion in the main cables could be halted. The Forth Estuary Transport Authority (Feta) estimated in June that work to strengthen the deck and erect temporary bridges over the carriageways would cost £8.7 million. However, the tender submitted by Balfour Beatty – described as the most “economically advantageous bid” – is for £13.7 million."
How could FETA be £5 million pounds out on an estimated bill of £9 million? Bit of a cock-up somewhere thinks Carnegie.
