Carnegie reads that the consortium bidding to get a Fife ferry link to Norway are "confident" that Rosyth will win out over other bidders to win the link, which would be largely aimed at freight transfers.
Mr Carnegie hates to put a damper on things, but he seems to recall that the current Rosyth to Zeebrugge route hasn't went down too well with the "trucker community" and freight operators, indeed the original Superfast ferry has been downgraded to a smaller ship (original pictured) and changes have been made to the original timetable for crossings.
If someone wants to run a ferry from Rosyth to Norway then that is a matter for them, but the Scottish public shouldn't be asked to pick up the tab for it if it isn't commercially viable on its own merits, especially when we are asking Fife pensioners to stump up more for what should be discounted bus trips to Perth and Dundee.
