Carnegie reads another one of those very obscure and irrelevant "news" stories from the desk of Fife Council's "equality and diversity" team, this time about the weather and saints.
"40 days and 40 nights? ... Today (15th July) is St Swithin's Day and legend says that the weather that we have today is likely to continue for the next 40 days.
'St Swithin's day if thou dost rain
For forty days it will remain
St Swithun's day if thou be fair
For forty days 'twill rain na mair' "
Why are Fife's council tax payers picking up the tab for this drivel?
